Save the Date: How to Plan and Lead a Funeral

In some of our congregations, it is church members who are called on to lead funerals. In recognition of this, a workshop is planned to provide practical and theological resources for planning and leading a funeral. 

 

Each participant needs a copy of the 2018 Book of Common Worship. This is a good resource for every church to have. Members of the same congregation are welcome to share one book. Additional hand-outs will be provided at the workshop.

It is $60 and a valuable investment for your church. 

 

This workshop is led by Gail Doering (Presbytery Transitional Executive Leader) and Catherine Neelly Burton (Presbytery Mission and Ministry Connector). Dr. Tom Long will join us by zoom to teach on the history and theology of the Christian funeral. 

 

No meals are provided, but you are welcome to bring a snack or bag lunch. The only cost for the workshop is the cost of the Book of Common Worship for your church.
